Email from this kid: Hello, First, don't take this personally as it is just business, pure math. So, to make a long story short, this is about YOU. You are one of many so this email is a little generic. Recently you visited a website or opened a xls/docm/docx document, your browser or office suite was exploited and a program has been loaded into your system. This program collected information about you like: a random password used by you: (redacted) one of the ips used by you: (redacted) one of the phone numbers used by you: (redacted) ... the list would go on but you know what I mean. Total data collected varies from a few MB to more than 10 GB. We collect things like: - software configs, certificates [..] - sql databases (we dump them in case you have important clients) - documents like .doc, .docm, .docx, .pdf, .xls, [..] - pictures like .jpg, .png and raw formats from cameras [..] - passwords from different sources (browsers, email clients, ftp/ssh software) - emails sent/received from office suites like microsoft office, thunderbird [..] - chat logs from different programs. - on devices with cameras (phone/laptops) we take pictures/short videos when the user enters some sites, watches certain video content and/or at certain times of the day when he/she would be naked [..] Now, other people encrypt user devices and ask for ransom. We feel that during these times everybody should have access to their data, so we're not doing this. Instead we're asking you to pay 700 USD with Bitcoin and all the data will be deleted for ever automatically. If you don't pay this the data will be sold to whoever wants to buy it for any price Your decision.
