scam. I don't have a webcam. The virus may be able to get passwords but its definitely bluffing the video thing. I did have a webcam a few years ago but I would block it with a post-it. Also I don't know how a "hacker" doesn't have a spell checker... that's just sad. IMO the whole thing is a scam, there is no virus and its actually someone from a website I subscribed to years ago sending the email.

First off, I have had my webcam driver disabled a long time ago, and on top of that I have had a sticky note over it for the last few years. This is a scam and the password given was incorrect. Though it was close... The email goes as follows: Some time ago your computer was infected with my private malware, RAT (Remote Administration Tool), your browser wasn't updated / patched, so you got automatically infected while browsing the website wich had my iframe placed in the background.
