An email was received from this address (noreply.in.opt16@opt.alwayshotel.com) with the title “Hacker”, claiming that they have “cracked” my devices as I visited an “adult video website” and that they have supposedly gained access to my screen and webcam?? Anyways they linked their bitcoin address in the end asking asking for $500 as a fair price for “their little secret”. I hope Bitcoin would take the necessary measures to put an end to such scams and hoaxes that waste our precious time and trick naive innocents who believe in such a crap and have criminals take copious amounts of money from frightening people. Got a payment reminder today, obviously didn't open the email! They insert a tracking pixel on the initial email so they know you have opened it but after researching that's as far as they can go. Hope they arrest this f*&^%$ scammers!!!
