Blackmail scam
Abuser: [email protected]
The abuser sends an email, likely from a spoofed email address, containing a password that you may have used in the past that was leaked in a previous data breach, but they use that old password to catch your attention, to con you into handing them over money. They threaten to release a video or other blackmail material if you don't pay them $899 USD to the bitcoin address in the email. They threaten if you go to law enforcement to report them or if you ignore the email, that they'll release the blackmail to your contacts, friends, family, etc. They say they've covered their steps so that they cannot be traced. Bottom line, it's a poorly written email of an empty threat just trying to con people into giving them money through bitcoin. Be careful folks!
