I received an email sent from my own address, in which a hacker threatened to release a compromising video if I didn't pay them $550 in Bitcoin

This is obviously the biggest nonsense, paying with Bitcoin is anonymous so the scammer cannot know who the money came from (there is no sender). The story as described in the mail is therefore incorrect and is not based on truths. 2019-01-01 15:24:45so recently i received a email letter and there's a synopsis down below. I know this is a scam. Did you see i have mailed you this mail with your own private e-mail address? I also know one of the security passwords you used on the web was "----" and i will tell you just how i did this all. Some time ago you checked out a few xxx sites, one of those sites was injected with a backdoor i created. This backdoor downloaded itself on your device and provides me full accessibility to every one of your accounts, emails, files, contacts and so forth. Do not worry, later in this mail i will inform you about what action you gotta take. While you checked out these xxx websites i triggered your webcam and taped a few video clips and took various screenshots of you as you "satisfied yourself".... if you know what i mean. name and password, my backdoor will always allow me full access to your device
