I’m a (physically) disabled young adult. So I don’t know much about IT, beyond the basics. But I’m guessing: my data was on the dark web, after one of those major hacks. Shouldn’t my email service have notified me, about a hack/security breach, to my account? (This is the first scam email I’ve ever received!) The scam email starts like this: “Some months ago I hacked your OS and got full access to your account [email protected] … On day of hack your account [email protected] with password xxxxx“. … This scammer claims they are holding my info to a bitcoin ransom. But… I don’t visit “adult” sites. I don’t have the type of router they mention. I’ve been in different locations, with varying wifi setups.
