I received this email, which had my email password listed (changed to XXXXX below). ___________________ Your computer was infected with my malware! Your password for this mail: XXXXX I am a programmer and hacked your computer 3 months ago. I kept saving information all the time, such as: browsing history, screen recordings, contacts, messages and much more. ... I am ready to forget about all this and completely stop accessing your computer and email. I guarantee I will not send these videos and delete all archives with them. After that I will leave and no longer bother you, but for that I want to have $500 worth of bitcoins in my wallet. You have 48 hours after reading this email. I still control your email and computer - and I know when you open them and read them. Don't try to change your email password, everything is under control. Do not try to contact me and answer this letter. I sent it to you from your email address. Take a look at the sender, you will see that I have complete control over your email and your computer. They sent an email from my own email address saying that they had hacked my email (which is obvious because they put my password in it) They said they had hacked my computer and had "footage of me watching porn" ???? and wanted $500 over bitcoin to "forget about it." I didn't pay the ransom because I know what they are saying is a lie but I wanted to report this to make sure they don't hurt anyone else. I'm willing to support a law enforcement investigation into this if necessary.

on 9/18/2021 I also received the same threatening email from my hacked email account, asking for $500 in bitcoin to keep the hacker from disseminating lude video footage of me to all my contacts. The sad thing is that the hacker was able to get into all of my accounts, including Facebook, Venmo, Microsoft, Etsy, Walmart, and on and on. The Facebook hack is the worst one because they took over my account (email/password/phone), and now I cannot recover the account because FB support sucks. The email address attached under "abuser" above is the email address my tech support guy found in my Microsoft account - they set up a new admin and locked me out. Maybe this will help. I am fully on board to pursue legal actions against this person/entity. It's BS!!!
