Email title was an actual password I previously used. However I have been using password manager for 15 years (keepass for most of that time then switched to 1password a few months ago, love i!) which enabled me to determine that it is a password I have not used in almost 10 years. In any case, the usual threats you read about in the news, like don't tell authorities and pay in bitcoins otherwise all your contacts will get videos about what you (alledgedly) did, etc. Rubbish except for the password, can't tell which site from way back got hacked into because at the time I re-used same password in many places. Reminder not to do that (instead use a good password manager!).

Starts out with a large red background banner across the top with a warning followed about possible threat, but including a button saying "Seems safe" - evidently intended to assure... Immediately it mentions a password I use a lot. That showed before I opened it, or I would have ignored it as it was in my spam folder, but the sender "shouldn't have had" my password. That got my attention. The threat was to send videos to some of my contacts - which would be harvested - of video recordings from sex websites I supposedly had visited, and of recordings from my webcam - I don't use either. The concern was the password really, Otherwise it was an idle threat. The demand took this form: "Best solution would be to pay me $1057." The only identifier is the account # at bitcoin. Ball's in your court.
