United Kingdom, 2018-11-14 10:58:31Dear user of - I am a spyware software developer. Your account has been hacked by me in the summer of 2018. I understand that it is hard to believe, but here is my evidence: - I sent you this email from your account. - Password from account - : - (on moment of hack). The hacking was carried out using a hardware vulnerability through which you went online (Cisco router, vulnerability CVE-2018-0296). I went around the security system in the router, installed an exploit there. When you went online, my exploit downloaded my malicious code (rootkit) to your device. This is driver software, I constantly updated it, so your antivirus is silent all time. Since then I have been following you (I can connect to your device via the VNC protocol). That is, I can see absolutely everything that you do, view and download your files and any data to yourself. I also have access to the camera on your device, and I periodically take photos and videos with you.

United Kingdom, 2018-11-14 14:10:42Threatened to expose videos and adult content unless $820 bitcoin supplied. They also cited an old password in the email. Trying to recall where used it but was a legitimate old password value, used on a website somewhere.
United Kingdom, 2018-11-14 14:21:51Seems this knobhead has been busy today, as I've joined a long list of those reporting this idiot today. Same email here, demanding bitcoin payments otherwise my nefarious activities will be shared with my contacts. I pity those who are taken in by this nonsense. Playing on the vulnerable. Nothing new in that, but you can see how this email would scare those who do not know better
